I am so excited to join Elevated Charter School! My journey in education started in daycare and preschool, where I facilitated learning through play and exploration. I kept this mindset of learning through play, making mistakes, and hands-on exploration when I accepted a 1st grade teaching position in 2017. I have experience teaching 1st grade in both private and charter schools, and know just how important these early elementary years are to a student’s confidence and attitude towards learning. I have also taught online coding classes for kids ages 5-12, and facilitated a Girls Who Code club for girls grades 3-5. I am now ready to partner with you and your family to give your student a personalized learning experience.
I love teaching the younger elementary students because of their excitement for learning and ability to solve problems in creative ways. They are discovering the world around them, and I believe their academic learning should not be separate from their world. If there’s a way to connect our studies to a book, nature, game, or personal experience, I will gladly find it.
I hold a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Western Oregon University, and a M.S. in Curriculum
and Instruction from Western Governors University. My husband and I have a son entering kindergarten this year. We love to spend the warmer months hiking and camping in the Uinta Mountains, and the colder months playing indoor games, reading, and drinking hot chocolate.
