My name is Lindsay Young and I am so excited to join the Elevated team and to join your educational journey. For the last ten years, I have taught 5th-grade at a local Utah Charter School. This past year, I decided that I wanted to take on a new challenge and was beyond excited when I found Elevated Charter school. The Elevated mission statement and teaching philosophy align with what I believe education should be. 

I married 25 years ago and moved to Japan four days later to teach English. My husband and I taught both Elementary and Jr. High students, as well as some adults. We lived in Japan for two years and fell in love with the culture and people. I will always have a very special place in my heart for all things Japan.

I have two awesome children. My daughter is going to Southern Utah University and wants to be a pilot. My son is going into 11th grade and will be on the basketball team. They are great kids and I am proud to be their mom.

One of my all-time favorite things to do is read. There is nothing better than getting caught up in the adventure of a good book. I believe that if you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book! Writing is also a passion of mine and I hope to become a published author someday. I also enjoy traveling, playing games, watching movies, and painting rocks.
