Hello Elevated Families. My name is Michaella M. Shumway and I am so happy to be here to help you and your family in the future of your child's education. 

I have my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Fine Arts from Utah State University. For the past 6 years I have been a 5th grade teacher in a local charter school and have worked with students from 1st - 7th grade in multiple after school programs over the years. 

I am married to the love of my life and we had our first child, a son, this last December. I love spending as much time as I can with my family and baby as well as our sweet Golden Retriever puppy named Rosie. We especially love to play games with each other and our friends. I am very artistic, and I love to sing, draw, write, cook and read. I have performed in many musicals throughout my life and have been a part of various great productions that have put me in front of crowds of over 25,000 audience members. I love being a teacher and especially love to teach leadership skills, history and math. 

I am looking forward to getting to know your students and family while contributing to the positive, collaborative culture of Elevated Charter. Let's work together to find the best learning path for your child this year!
